Concord

Concord is an American varietal of the species Vitis labrusca developed by Ephraim Wales Bull in Concord, Massachusetts in 1849. Bull evaluated over 20,000 seedlings from wild Vitis labrusca seeds before finding the perfect grape. This original grapevine still grows at his home in Concord. Today Concord is made mainly into juice and jam, but in some places it is fermented into wine.
