Beaujolais

France

The Burgundian regian of Beaujolais is best known for its cultivation of Gamay, an unusual grape grown few other places in the world. Cultivation of this Vitis vinifera varietal takes place according to the French Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) system, a government mandated regulation of the terrior.
